The Public Service & Readiness Institute is a nonpartisan research and public service organization dedicated to strengthening American public service across its full breadth — the programs that serve the public, the veterans and military families who have borne the weight of service, the communities where public life takes root, and the leaders who will carry it forward.
What We Do
Research
We study the state of American public service — from how programs perform in practice to the experience of veterans, military families, and the communities they call home. Our work draws on government audit and oversight sources, agency data, and peer-reviewed scholarship.
Convening
We bring students, academics, professionals, practitioners, organizations, nonprofits, and government — including elected officials — into the same conversation to examine new approaches to persistent public problems. No single sector solves them alone.
Public Service Leadership
We develop pathways for the next generation of public servants — connecting graduate students, veterans, and early-career professionals to applied research and the practice of governing well.

We translate findings into concrete, implementable recommendations for legislators, agencies, and community institutions — grounded in evidence, not advocacy.
